Product Review: Driver Robot

What’s this new product called Driver Robot? I’ll try to fill you in with a quick product review.

Driver Robot is a program that scans your computer looking for missing or corrupt. For everyone that isn’t a tech geek out there – drivers are basically files that help your computer communicate with another piece of your computer. If drivers are missing or corrupt, the hardware is basically worthless.

After downloading andinstalling Driver Robot, the program ran a scan of my whole computer. It tells you which drivers are correct and which ones are either broken, outdated, or missing. Then the program uses an internet connection to look for the latest drivers available for your computer. It will then ask you if you want to install these new drivers. Of course you say yes!

The following is a list of hardware that Driver Robot can detect and update. Keep in mind that Driver Robot is always searching for updates and will alert you once they are available.

  • Windows XP drivers
  • Windows Vista drivers
  • USB drivers
  • Chipset drivers
  • AC97 drivers
  • DVD drivers
  • Router drivers
  • Sound card drivers
  • Printer drivers
  • Video card drivers
  • Motherboard drivers
  • Webcam drivers
  • Wireless drivers
  • Bluetooth drivers
  • FireWire drivers
  • Ethernet drivers

Driver Robot is a great program in my opinion, especially for someone who is not familiar with the workings of PC’s. This is basically a install it and forget it program. Updated drivers help computers and laptops maintain optimal performance and speed.

I highly recommend Driver Robot. Check it out here! Driver Robot Homepage

Tips on Buying a Laptop

Tips on Buying a Laptop
By Chuck R Stewart

If you’re looking for a laptop and also looking for discount deals, online deals, or computer deals, then you’re on the right track to finding a good laptop for yourself at a good price. If you’re having trouble finding what you want for a reasonable price, then you’re in a place that many people find themselves when looking for laptops. If you want a good price on a great laptop, you need to look around instead of just sitting around and waiting for deals to come your way, because the deals that reach you when you don’t go out and look for them, or don’t know where to look for them will be deals that pale in comparison to the ones you can find if you really get out there and look.

That doesn’t mean you have to hit every store that sells laptops within 50 miles, because you can just use your head and use the internet. This way you don’t have to waste time going from store to store, dealing with the hassles of salespeople trying to make commission, or bad traffic. You can sit in the comfort of your own home and look for the set of specifications you want your laptop to have and the minimum you are willing to accept for a good price. You can look at consumer reports on the internet too, as well as guides for your specific needs, descriptions of what different components of your laptop actually do, and there are many expert opinions to take advantage of online.

You should also comparison shop. If you find a laptop that appeals to you, search for that laptop with its specifications at many stores, online or real, and also make sure you compare the different aspects of different laptops with one another in relation to their price differences, and by doing this you may find a laptop that is better than what you were looking for but is a great deal for what you are getting. Many sites on the internet allow you to compare up to several laptops against one another at the same time on the same page, a convenience that should be utilized whenever possible.

There are other ways to get good prices like refurbished laptops, which can be exactly the same as buying a new laptop if it has been refurbished well, just make sure you get a good warranty on it in case the refurbish job is not up to par. eBay can be a great option, whether you want to find a great deal in an auction or if you don’t there are also stores on eBay that can have terrific prices without having to wait through the long process of the online auction which you can end up not winning at the end anyway. If you can find liquidation sales or closeout sales you can have an advantage over other shoppers, as you should be able to find some great prices when companies need to get rid of their merchandise.

Chuck R. Stewart often searches the internet to find discount deals on everything from appliances and electronics to clothing and food. The online deals often save him a lot of money.

Data Recovery FAQ’s

Data Recovery FAQ’s

At one point or another, everyone who owns a laptop or pc will experience the bad news of hard drive failure. The reasons behind a failure can vary, and could include anything from human error to physical damage. Viruses can also destroy drives, along with many other factors. For many years, the need to recover data that has been lost or destroyed has made data recovery such a very valuable asset.

Most all hard drives can be recovered with today’s technology. If the hard drive is making a ticking or a scratching noise, you can usually use software to recover the data. Hooking up the drive as a slave on another computer is also possible. If the drive is not readable with these methods it will take a more advanced approach to get your drive back. Usually you will need to send this off to data recovery company. This is usually the most expensive option.

One of the key benefits of data recovery is the fact that information can also be retrieved from the recycle bin as well. Partition recovery, and even information that has been lost somewhere on the disk can be retrieved as well. Even though it may seem like your data is gone forever – the technicians that specialize in data recovery can retrieve it.

From Windows to Mac, almost everything can be recovered. There are different filing structures and formats, including NTFS and FAT32. These are common Windows filing structures, and hold all of the information for your hard. drive.

Those of you who have multiple hard drives in your computer in RAID configurations can also be recovered. If a single hard drive on the RAID array should fail, the RAID controller will detect the problem and usually there won’t be a loss of data. If the entire RAID array crashes, it will be almost impossible to recover yourself. When this happens, you’ll most likely need to send it off and have a data recovery company restore your data.

Anytime your hard drive crashes or malfunctions, data recovery techniques are there to help you get back your files. Whether they are personal files, old pictures, or files from work – you can put your trust in data recovery and know that you’ll get everything the back the way it was.

4 Tips for a Successful Website

4 Tips for a Successful Website

When it comes to creating a new website, extra attention should be paid to every little detail to make sure it looks pleasing when first entering and also serves it’s purpose. Here are five quick tips for website design.

1) Keep your site navigation clean and simple.

It’s very important to keep your website navigation simple and intuitive. Don’t have links scattered all over the site in no particular order. Also, I recommend staying away from complicated Flash or Java based menus or multi-tiered drop-down menus. Yes, they look nice but many times they are almost too complicated. People will leave your website real fast if they can’t find what they are looking for.
2) Do not use audio on your site

So you put your favorite Jethro Tull song on auto-play when your website opens. Bad idea! If your website visitor is going to spend more than 3 minutes on your website reading your content, do you think they want to hear the same song repeat over and over? If you REALLY need to have some sort of audio, make sure the mute or cancel button is easy to find. Or have a “Click Here” for an audio track if you choose.

3) Keep the banner advertisments to a minimum

Even the least Internet savvy website surfers have trained themselves to ignore banner advertisements. If you have a product to sell, don’t plaster pictures and banners all over the place. If you have affiliate banners, keep those to a minimum also. Content is key!

4) Splash or Intro Pages – NO!

Splash pages are usually a Flash based intro page that may have some cool graphics and/or music that basically just say “Enter Here”. That’s a quick way to lose your visitor. Keep it simple yet elegant. You don’t need a 45 second intro with blaring music to get a customer or visitor interested.
